Research & Development

A Research & Development Site

In the north of France, specifically in Coutiches (59), a Research & Development site specializes in the breeding of pea and bean varieties.

A Dedicated Research Center

A major player in the industrial markets of canned goods, frozen foods, and fresh produce, we offer a range of over 50 varieties.

Seed production

Seed production begins with basic seeds resulting from extensive research and maintenance programs. GSN Semences has a long-standing expertise in this field.

We are committed to mastering our entire production process. To achieve this, we work with the best farmers in France, in traditional seed production regions. Our agronomic team ensures monitoring of production plots with partner farmers.

GSN Semences produces an average of 450 varieties on 2,500 hectares. With 80% of our production originating in France, we contribute to maintaining the tradition of producing high-quality seeds.

France's diverse climatic and agronomic characteristics, along with its unique isolation organization, make it an invaluable asset globally.

Our factories

The Riscle plant (32) specializes in the cleaning and packaging of peas and beans. Within this facility, we handle the cleaning and standardization of 4,500 tons of seeds, ranging from batches of 200 grams to 60 tons. We utilize high-end equipment such as optical sorters and density tables.

The factory in Le Houga (32) specializes in bulk and private-label cleaning and packaging, particularly for products packaged in cans and sachets.

The Mazé plant (49) specializes in bulk cleaning and packaging.

Our factories have a storage capacity exceeding 6000 tons. Storage is primarily done in big bags on racks and in cold rooms with controlled temperature and humidity.

Under ISO 9001 quality control and ISTA standards, our analytical laboratory evaluates germination and checks for specific diseases such as fusarium and xanthomonas/pseudomonas.
